Ponytails are a very interesting plant that have a massive swollen base to their trunks. Trunks can reach 3 meters in diameter and the tree 9m tall. They are native to the dry, desert regions of Mexico and Southern United States. They make a hardy and interesting pot plant for many years as they grow large enough for their final garden position.
