This hardy ginger will clump and reach a height of up to 2m and produce upright flowers that look similar to white shells.
Alpinia mutica will grow pretty well anywhere in Australia and will tolerate cold weather. Grow in full sun to part shade in moist, well drained soil that you have improved with organic fertiliser and mulch. This plant is a great choice for foliage backdrops.
