Very drought hardy Australian native tree which grows 5-15m tall. Seeds, leaves, flowers and roots are edible, and fibre from the bark was traditionally used to make rope and nets. Frost hardy to -5, possibly lower. Extremely adaptable to any position, suitable as feature tree, shade tree, canopy tree, emergency stock fodder & shade, pot plants, lining driveways, street tree etc. Beautiful creamy flowers, speckled with red, followed by 2-3" long, very hard seed pods. Pods contain edible seeds (cook first - see full article link below).
Very deep root system so does not compete with other crops or plants. A very beautiful, useful and hardy tree for pretty well any garden.
