Native the Eastern Cape of South Africa, Ledebouria socialis is one of those classic plants for the home or garden. With an attractive spotted leaf, with purplish coloration underneath, foliage emerges from purplish-maroon surface bulbs.
Suited to shady conditions it does well as a house plant. The bulbs are said to survive a brief frost.
Drought tolerant, it is an excellent plant for the beginner and makes an interesting addition to your succulent / dry weather plants.
This plant propogates by bulb offsets and will eventually fill a pot or spot in the garden.
This plant species is thought to be toxic, so may not be a suitable choice for all households.
Plants available: Several bulbs with foliage - looking good!
