Growing Alpinia zerumbet variegata

When you receive your Ginger plants, plant them in a pot until established, water thoroughly and then do not water again until the top 2" of soil feels dry. Shell Ginger prefer fertile soil, with regular watering. It's very drought hardy, but looks best when the water is kept up to it. Fertilise regularly with organic fertilser and apply seaweed solution fortnightly. Keep the pots in a warm, shady spot until the plant reaches 5" pot size, after which it can be planted into your garden. Full sun with protection in the hottest part of the day to full shade.

Plants for sale: approx 30cm tall.
