Taro - Bun Long is a tropical perennial plant native to Asia and India. It is a vigorous, fast growing plants which is grown for its edible tuber. Taro is best grown in a warm, frost free position. In warm parts of the country it can be planted year round, but in cooler parts it's best to plant in spring. Taro performs best with plenty of water.

Pink Rain Lily - A gorgeous little ground cover plant, with delightful little pink flowers and thin strap like foliage. They flower several times a year, usually after a rain, earning them the common name of 'rain lily' or 'pink rain lily'. Epipremnum Aureum - Devil's Ivy or Golden pothos (Scindapsus aures) - Such beautiful coloured foliage! Variegated plant with attractive leaves in varying shades of green and gold. Despite the name (and despite a few old wives tales about bad luck) Devil’s Ivy is a popular houseplant as it requires little maintenance and keeps its variegated colour despite poor conditions. In the wild Epipremnum can grow up to 40 feet long-but as a potted plant it will trail to only about 8 feet.
The Tamarind tree most likely originated in Tropical Africa and although widely grown India is the largest producer of Tamarind. The Tamarind tree is leguminous tree and produces a pod containing seeds that is surrounded by an edible reddish brown pulp that is uniquely sweet / sour and quite delicious.
This is a wonderful little groundcover from South Africa. It has succulent, thick green leaves which are covered in Leopard spots. The spots are a dark green to almost black, and the colour tends to be enhanced (e.g. darker spots on the foliage) in a shady spot and over winter.

Furcrea foetida Medio Picta is a beautiful succulent from Central America. It has long leaves, similar to Agave plants, with amazing colour which would provide an eye catching feature in the garden. Leaves are variegated, white with green stripes and outlines.
Furcrea foetida Medio Picta grows to approximately 1.5m tall and wide, and does not produce a trunk. The foliage doesn’t have any spikes or sharp edges and is therefore excellent for use around path ways and gardens. It will provide colour year round in the garden!

Native Gardenia (Randia Fitzalanii), also known as the yellow mangosteen, is a beautiful rainforest tree, native to the North Coast of Queensland in Australia. Randia fitzalanii grows to around 5m tall, possibly a little taller in some conditions, and makes an excellent small tree for many gardens! Foliage is very beautiful and glossy green, and flowers resemble the flowers of Gardenia’s, which is where the name ‘Native Gardenia’ originates. The flowers are highly fragrant.
Rusty Fig - Ficus rubignosa, It gets its name from the unusual "rusty" coloured hairs it develops on the underside of the leaves which when caught in the wind will produce a wonderful contrast against the deep green tops. This tree will keep its leaves in winter, so it is a year round display.
Japanese Aralia - Fatsia Japonica - It is extremely versatile, hardy, and is extremely popular as a house plant, a lush hedge or as a container plant. Bamboo Ginger - Alpinia luteocarpa, Gorgeous decorative clumping ginger. Similar colouration as the Native Alpinia red backed ginger.
Small white flower is produced, but this plant is generally grown for its amazing foliage.
Grevillea baileyana - This stunning tree has large, glossy leaves with a rusty tinge to the undersurface making a stunning contrast. It is complemented by sprays of honey-scented cream coloured flowers in spring / summer.
Ivory Cane Palm - Pinanga Coronata / Kuhlii- Very attractive, medium sized clumping palm from the Indonesian islands of Java and Sumatra. Can grow to around 3-6 meters tall, slim, ringed green trunk with feather shaped leaves. It will produce multiple ivory canes but remains in a nice clump.
African Mahogany - Khaya senegalensis is a high value hardwood tree, versatile, and a native of Africa. Tough, highly adaptable and valuable. Utilised in traditional medicine for a wide variety of ailments.

Syngonium Neon Pink is pretty as a picture! Such beautiful shades of pink! This stunning pink variegated vine/climber is perfect as an indoor plant or in a deep shady patch in the garden. Malabar Chestnut (Pachira aquatica / glabra) a stunning tree. Foliage is shiny deep green, with lighter green new growth. Leaves are palmate, or finger-shaped. It gives away its distant relative - the Boabob with a distinctive swollen trunk base. This makes it very suitable as a bonsai or house plant, as well as a beautiful shade tree for parks, gardens and bush blocks.
Canna indica is a very nice tropical plant with bright green, lush foliage and flowers which are carried on tall stalks. This Canna grows to around 1m tall, with flower spikes up to 1.5m. They are beautiful in between your other foliage and flowering plants in the garden, providing bulk and colour when in flower.
Sabal Minor originates in the low lying areas of south-eastern America. It is a low growing and slow growing palm, which normally grows up to about 1 meter, but can grow up to 2,5 max. It typically has no more than 10 leaves, but it can live up to 400 years old. Sabal Minor has a short trunk (up 30cm in diameter), but usually appears trunkless due to its subterranean trunk which actually grows down into the soil. It has blue green costa palmate leaves (‘stiff shredded fan shaped leaves’).

Bottle Palm (Hyophorbe lagenicaulis) is a solitary dwarf palm 3-3.5m tall with a hugely swollen trunk up to 60cm in diameter. Trunks are rounded in young specimens and flatten out a little when it gets older. It has upwardly arching feather leaves (pinnate) on top of a smooth green crown shaft. Leaves grow up to 3m in length. Bottle Palms originate in Round Island but is almost extinct in native habitat. It is however widely cultivated for its unique beauty all around the world. The flowers of Heliconia Sassy are a multitude of colours, ranging from pale green to magenta on the bracts, while the petals themselves are bright orange with dark green tips. Michelia coco is a member of the magnoliaceae family, and it is a relative of the Magnolia. It bears beautiful, highly fragrant cream flowers during many months of the year. Michelia coco grows to around 4m tall and 6m wide. The Large Leafed Port Wine Magnolia is suited to use in pots, hedges and general garden feature plant. Michelia coco is also well suited as an indoor plant. Michelia coco is best grown in moist, fertile ground. Ensure soil is well draining and slightly acid. Michelia should be grown in a warm, bright position, part sun to part shade.
The Bird of Paradise is a stunning plant; it has a uniquely shaped flower which resembles a bird. Flowers are orange and blue and flower most of the year. The warmer the climate, the more they will bloom. It has paddle shaped leathery leaves that are aprox 20cm long and 15cm wide. It forms great clumps of over a meter wide, up to 1.5 meters high.

Dracaena marginata - Colorama Dragon Tree, grows to aprox 5m tall. It can easily be maintained at any height by pruning the tops. Wherever you prune a cane, multiple canes will re-shoot, creating a beautiful bushy plant. It is one of the very best indoor plants, and looks great in a pot. You can plant them with 2- 3 in a pot to develop a nice, ‘full’ looking plant. It develops Cordyline-like canes, with tufts of sword-like foliage. Foliage is green with red margins. Not only is it great indoors, it also fares very well out in the garden, in full sun to part shade. Variegated Peace Lily - A great way to purify the air in your office, house or work space! The Peace Lily is an ideal indoor plant and can be grown in darker spots in the house, as well as shady positions in the garden. The Peace Lily flower is a very simple design, the flowers are pale green at the start then change to snow white with a yellow centre. Foliage is a beautiful variegated green and white. The peace lily grows best in a dark shady spot, it will not tolerate direct sun light. Keep the soil moist, can grow to 90 cms tall and an equal width. Giant Bird of Paradise - Strelitzia nicolai - Incredibly fast growing in the right position, perfect for a quick screen! Beautiful plant from Natal, South Africa. Dracaena marginata, or Red Edge Dragon Tree, grows to aprox 5m tall. It can easily be maintained at any height by pruning the tops. Wherever you prune a cane, multiple canes will re-shoot, creating a beautiful bushy plant. It is one of the very best indoor plants, and looks great in a pot. You can plant them with 2- 3 in a pot to develop a nice, ‘full’ looking plant. It develops Cordyline-like canes, with tufts of sword-like foliage. Foliage is green with red margins. Agapanthus Snow White (White African Lily) is a stunning garden plant which originates in South Africa. It has beautiful bright green, slim leaves and a tall flower stalk. Flowers are pendulous and white and are borne in a cluster on top of the flower stalk, providing a wonderful display of colour. Agapanthus africanus is best grown in well draining soil, in the garden or pots. Soil should be a sandy mix which does not get water logged, and is slightly acidic. Beautiful tropical foliage plant from the Ginger family which grows to just over 1/2 a meter tall. It has underground rhizomes which look a bit like a set of keys, or a bunch of funny shaped carrots. Leaves are a very nice light green. Foliage tends to be more dark green in a shady position. Flowers are pink to white. Rhizomes, young leaves and shoots are edible, and can be used in salads, pickles, soups etc. It can be eaten raw but is also used in cooking.
